Go to Babes<\/a>\u2026A dream that has followed us since the launch of EUDOXIE..! The desert, the sun, straight lines stretching as far as the eye can see, and that image of the American-style biker gang with their hair blowing in the wind..!<\/p>\n

When we saw the BRO6 approaching, we took a look at our schedule and thought, "Why not!" The desire for adventure and the dream won out over reason! Oops!<\/span><\/p>\n

The Departure<\/h3>\n

Wednesday morning, we left Bordeaux for a day trip of over 30 hours, heading to Los Angeles via Montreal! After this rather tiring journey, we arrived exhausted. A good night's rest and we woke up in a hotel with a kitschy, brightly colored vibe.<\/span>First breakfast: donuts and a good 1800-calorie iced coffee!! <\/span><\/p>\n\n \n

With full stomachs, we set off to pick up the motorcycles in Brea, a city in the suburbs of LA. There we collected two beautiful Royal Enfield bikes. These two Himalayans<\/a> They're perfect for our desert road trip and they look amazing! They're 400cc bikes, quite tall but very light and super maneuverable, perfect for girls who are 5'5" like us. We head straight for the highway\u2014yes, in the US there are no alternative back roads! The eight-lane highway is full of trucks and huge cars. We hesitate for a moment and finally start lane splitting and then riding on the carpool section. We later learned that lane splitting is allowed in California but prohibited in some other states, phew! After two hours of riding, we stop near Riverside, in a shopping center that looks like Disneyland\u2026 Everything around us looks like a movie set! It's a strange feeling. After this stop, we set off again towards Joshua Tree where the Babes event is taking place. The road isn't very pleasant; it's very windy, there are lots of big trucks to overtake, it's starting to get very hot, and we're taking a slightly wrong turn. Adventure is adventure! <\/span><\/p>\n

Joshua Tree<\/h3>\n

After an hour's drive, we finally arrived in Joshua Tree Town, a hippie town with tons of vintage clothing stores. We hadn't seen many motorcycles so far, only four or five Harleys. Then we started to see some girls in the distance, and the excitement was building! At the gas station, we met an old biker who told us to be careful: "People are crazy here, the sun beats down on their heads!" Super reassuring... But since he seemed crazy himself, we weren't too worried... haha! There we were, two, three, then fifteen girls on motorcycles around us! We were getting closer to the campsite! When we arrived, we were greeted by Cherry, a customer and now friend from Manitoba, Canada. She explained how things worked, showed us her beautiful Royal Enfield, and we decided to meet up later for a beer. This hippie campsite is already full of motorcycles, tents, XXL camper vans and RVs\u2014those enormous motorhomes that unfold with all the comforts of an apartment, it's impressive! We're pitching our tiny one-and-a-half-person tent in the shade of a small bush; we're traveling light!<\/span><\/p>\n\t
