Go to Babes… A dream that has followed us since the launch of EUDOXIE..! The desert, the sun, the straight lines as far as the eye can see and this image of the American-style biker gang with their hair blowing in the wind..!
When we saw the BRO6 approaching we took a look at our schedule and said to ourselves: "why not!" The desire for adventure and dreams won out over reason! Oops!
The Departure
Wednesday morning departure from Bordeaux, we leave for a day of travel of more than 30 hours towards Los Angeles via Montreal! After this rather tiring journey we arrive exhausted at our destination. A good restorative night and we wake up in a hotel with a kitsch and acidulous air.First breakfast, let's go for donuts and a good iced coffee at 1800 calories!!
With full bellies we went to pick up the motorcycles in Brea, a city in the suburbs of LA. There we picked up two beautiful Royal Enfield bikes. These two Himalayans are perfect for our roadtrip in the desert and they look great! They are 400 cc quite high but very light and super easy to handle, they are perfect for girls of 1m65 like us. We take the Highway directly, yes in the US there are no small alternative national roads! The eight lanes are full of trucks and huge cars, we hesitate for a moment and finally we start to do interfile then to drive on the Carpool portion. Indeed we learned later that interfile was authorized in California but prohibited in some other states, phew ..! After two hours of driving we make a stop near Riverside, in a commercial area that looks like Disneyland ... Everything around us looks like a movie set placed there! It's a strange feeling. After this stop we set off again towards Joshua Tree where the Babes event takes place. The road is not very pleasant, there is a lot of wind, a lot of big trucks to overtake, it is starting to get very hot and we take a little wrong path. Adventure is adventure!
Joshua Tree
After an hour of driving we finally arrive at Joshua Tree Town a hippie town with lots of thrift stores. We haven't seen many motorbikes so far only 4-5 Harleys, there we start to see a few girls in the distance and the excitement is rising! At the station we met an old biker who told us to be careful: "people here are crazy, the sun beats down too much on their heads" ..! Very reassuring ... But as he seemed crazy himself, we weren't too worried ..! ahah! there we are 2, 3 then 15 girls on motorbikes around us! We are getting closer to the camp !!! Arrived there we are greeted by Cherry a customer and now friend from Manitoba in Canada, she explains to us how it works, shows us her superb Royal Enfield and we decide to meet up later for a beer. This hippie campsite is already full of motorbikes, tents, XXL camper vans and RVs, these huge camper vans that unfold with all the comfort of an apartment, it's impressive! We set up our mini 1 and a half place tent in the shade of a small bush, we travel light!

BABES RIDE OUT
We quickly decide to go visit the festival site, we can't wait to see more... Here too it's a hippie campsite, there are lots of metal statues, wooden cabins and there's a huge cozy tent with lots of cushions to rest on, the best! We start by having a beer offered by the local brand and we go around the stands and we decide to eat that evening it's an Asian vegetarian meal. Soon the karaoke starts, the girls take turns and sing like rock stars! We watch them impressed! They put on a show! Our trip and our jet lag are knocking us out and then above all, we want to enjoy the next day.

We are woken up at dawn by the first light of day, we decide to go have breakfast in a saloon not far away. After drinking an Americano and eating eggs and bacon in a well-balanced Wild West atmosphere, we join Cherry for a ride in the Joshua Tree desert. The road is very nice, the landscapes breathtaking, you have to be careful of the sand on the road. After a little while we stop in a typical restaurant, we sit at a large table, we get to know a little all the girls we rode with during the morning. Apparently not far from us there is the singer Pink, I even find myself face to face with her at the bend of the bar. It's funny to see a big star in real life! After this break we decide to go on an adventure, we leave the girls and we go for a ride with Caroline. Flirt with the horizon of the desert, Breathe the fresh air of the afternoon ... in short we get lost! and we test the sandy roads a little!
That evening, after having put down the motorcycles we return to the site to watch and participate in the animation with the girls met earlier in the day. It's time to party all together! DJ atmosphere and cocktails all evening!
Los Angeles
The trip is very short, we decide to leave the next day and return to Los Angeles. There is less wind this time, we enjoy it, the song Easy Rider resonates in our heads... We are smiling! But the road is dangerous... There are a lot of people and obstacles (like tires in the middle of the road yes yes!) you have to be careful... It is very hot, we decide to go by the PCH, mythical road on the Pacific coast that goes up to LA. There we rent a very small room but next to Santa Monica. In the evening we meet French friends to share burgers and a few beers, we are in the States after all! haha! The next day, we go to the Deus Café to have our last breakfast! There we meet people intrigued by our motorcycles, the discussion quickly starts. They all want to take the Frenchies for a ride in the desert! Too bad we don't have time to explore the surroundings, we have to bring our Himalayans back to Newport Beach..! In the afternoon after taking the PCH south, we return our little motorcycles with a heavy heart. In the evening we go to Venice Beach for the sunset with the skaters!

A big slice of pizza later, we say goodbye to Los Angeles because tomorrow we leave for a 30 hour flight back to Bordeaux. This trip was short and intense. But it was so worth it... We returned with our eyes full of mythical images and with only one desire... to go back with friends!
A big THANK YOU to Royal Enfield North America for these beautiful Himalayans! We loved them!
And remember: RIDE SAFE!!
