WHEELS AND WAVES

THE DEPARTURE

In mid-June we were at the event Wheels and Waves in Biarritz, This was a major milestone for us this season and in the evolution of our brand! We decided to share this amazing experience with you through an article!

Our adventure begins Tuesday morning, aboard Bobby, our van and faithful travel companion. First stop: the garage Steel Bike Concept in Bordeaux to pick up our custom motorcycle: Gaby (yes, we like to give names to our machines)!

We hit the road towards Wheels and Waves, and along the way we saw loads of bikers heading south! Arriving in Biarritz in the rain, we started setting up the stand… After some physical effort and some deliberation (because a great stand is key to success ;)) we decided to finish everything the next morning, hoping for better weather!

Not a minute to rest, we're off to the video launch party. Belharra beer with our friends who are preparers at EMD Workers in the shop DEUS From the center of Biarritz. We'd barely arrived when we noticed a crowd with the kind of rock and badass style we love! We were surprised by the number of people there! The festival hadn't even started yet, but a good portion of the bikers were already there. They came from everywhere: Spain, Italy, Russia, England, the USA—some even rode their motorcycles from Denmark or Poland. It's always a pleasure to meet these bikers from such different backgrounds. The setting is fantastic, with the DEUS shop, the atmosphere in the café, the motorcycles on display, and the well-rehearsed DJ. The only downside: the never-ending queue for beer!

THE FIRST DAY

The time has come for our first day in the village. It's time to perfect the details, welcome everyone with a big smile and boundless energy! It's also an opportunity for us to meet our festival neighbors, who are none other than... PDF Motorcycle <- go check out this awesome video!! A pleasant surprise for us because we couldn't have dreamed of anything better: between their super stylish motorcycles (including one that almost got bought by Brad Pitt), their Italian class, their desire to party and their natural kindness, we were next to the best!

MARIE IS HER FIRST TIME IN THE WALL OF DEATH

«After hearing the announcement of the ‘wall of death’, set up by Indian Motorcycle and our friends from INFERNAL VARANNE, I decided to go and discover what was hidden inside this giant barrel! No need to tell me twice, I rushed over to understand how a motorcycle can actually ride horizontally on a wall?!

Once I was perched atop the enormous cylinder, the question still echoed in my mind, and as soon as the show began, I was awestruck by this performance, as crazy as it was impressive! Someone could almost get hit by a wheel, the riders were going so high. We might think the show ended there, but NO! The rider performed incredible maneuvers, hands-free, feet on the handlebars, and I have to admit my heart was racing; I must have been even more stressed than he was!

It was only at the end of the show, and to my great surprise, that I learned that the demonstration showed that this activity is absolutely not insured in case of injury 😮 … that's what you call having a sense of showmanship!

DURING WHEELS AND WAVES

The days fly by, each bringing its own set of encounters. Customers who crossed France by motorcycle for the festival come to tell us about their journeys, and we love it! All these stories are truly fantastic. Chatting and exchanging ideas about... our collections, Our experiences, or taking advice and feedback, are what allow us to evolve and adapt to market realities as well as to customer desires!

And then there's the fact that it allows us to get feedback on organized races that we can't attend, whether it's for hill climbs: the Punk's Peak Sprint Race, there Deus Swank rally or even the El rollo flat track race Everyone seemed won over and delighted!

As for entertainment, we were lucky enough to witness a fighter jet flight organized by Breitling! Despite the less than ideal weather, this air show was pretty badass, with planes flying right past our heads (no, I'm not exaggerating at all)!

It was Saturday evening between 8 and 10 pm that our stand was transformed! Thanks to our Italian friends from PDF and their amazing sound system, our stands became a blazing dance floor, much to the delight of the visitors who came to drink and dance with us! The sunset in this atmosphere was simply magical! We were all smiling and dancing, a beer in hand, on a bench, a barrel, wearing Native American headdresses… In short, pure fun!!! A moment of sharing just the way we like it!

After this crazy start to the evening, we decided to go to the brand's 5th anniversary party. Kytone Off to California Kitchen! A really nice and relaxed atmosphere until 2 am, when the engines started roaring and the tires started burning rubber! Time to choose between heading home to sleep the next day and hitting the club to party for a few more hours… And guess where we went… 😉 haha!

THE END

Sunday was a fairly peaceful day. Some had already gotten back on their motorcycles to return from their road trips… It was also a time for us to say goodbye to everyone, especially our neighbors, to whom we promised to visit Bergamo! That last day always passes with a mixture of sadness and joy at having shared all these moments together!

But hey, it's just a postponement, since we're going back next year! 😉
