Marie: the model

Hi married Who are you and how do you know Eudoxie's daughters?

I'm a Marketing student, and I'm 21 years old. You might wonder how I ended up in a photoshoot for Eudoxie, so let me tell you! It all started last year when I was looking for an internship to complete my Bachelor's degree. I saw the advertisement for Eudoxie's internship position and I immediately connected with the message, the world, and also the clothing design!

I was lucky enough to be accepted and I got to experience daily life with Camille and Caro for 6 months. It was a really great experience; I discovered a world that was completely unknown to me and I absolutely loved it, whether it was the people I met, the projects, or the clothes. 😉

AN ADVENTURE THAT LEFT A LEAFLET WITH THEM?

I'm tempted to say that maybe this meeting was fate, haha, because a year later I'm still somewhat part of the adventure. I still need to get my motorcycle license, but it won't be long! I try to support them in any way I can, and it's always a pleasure to see them again and watch Eudoxie grow!

I would also like to point out that it was they who made me love beer by taking me to festivals to be around Italian rock musicians. 😉 Haha, but that's just one thing among many others, we experienced quite a few crazy stories during those 6 months!

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN MODELING?

I've been interested in modeling since last year; in fact, I started during my internship at Eudoxie. I was able to do my first shoot with Selfie's Mag because the girls were kind enough to let me leave early, so thank you again girls!

For those who don't know Selfie's, it's a Bordeaux-based fashion magazine that uses amateur models! What's great is that we're all supported in our progress; we organize workshops, we train, we learn tips to get good results, etc. So it's really a proactive approach where everyone is involved!

It's a world that greatly appeals to me and it's incredible to get a glimpse of it; the results are truly impressive in quality and I've had some amazing encounters that I wouldn't have been able to have in my everyday life.

WHAT DID YOU THINK?É OF THE DAY?

Initially I was a little intimidated because I had never shot in any other context than Selfie's with a focus on the final product for a brand! I was putting a little pressure on myself, but honestly everyone made me feel at ease right away!

Miguel the photographer was super nice, and that really helped me relax and let go. Guillaume, the owner of Atelier M, had heated the room where I was changing; thank you for that because it was freezing cold in the garage! And Caro reassured and guided me! She seemed happy with the result, so that motivated me a lot too!’'Looking forward to the next photoshoot! ahaha!'

DID YOU HAVEEJA SHOOTE WITH THE BULLET TIME TECHNIQUE?

Bullet Time? Never! It was my first time, and it was truly impressive. At first, I didn't really know which camera to look at among the 16 pointed at me! But little by little, I got the hang of it! I'd seen similar results on Instagram, and it was interesting to see the process in real life and realize all the work that goes into it!

Miguel: the photographer

WHAT KIND OF PHOTOGRAPHER ARE YOU?

Hi Caro! I'm Miguel Ramos, a professional photographer based in Bordeaux for almost four years. I primarily work with businesses, handling everything from corporate portraits and reportage to product photography and commercial illustrations. Alongside this professional work, I also pursue more personal and artistic photography, exploring the intersection of portraiture and landscape. But what truly defines me is my constant search for new ways to create images. My latest project? It's... The Orbit Studio which offers a whole range of creative options around Bullet Time, which we used here!

BULLET TIME? WHAT IS IT?

Bullet time, to put it simply, is the Matrix effect Everyone knows it! A frozen moment and a "camera" rotating around the subject. An impressive 3D effect. While the end concept is simple, the process is quite complex, as you could see during our photoshoot. 🙂

Basically, it involves lining up several identical cameras (16 in this case, but I can use 24!) around the subject to be photographed, and they all trigger simultaneously. This results in a series of photos of the same subject taken at the same instant, but from as many different angles as there are cameras. The result is a video where you literally move around the subject, like a 3D view.

This type of installation is effective for event entertainment and weddings in the form of a photobooth, but also for fashion and audiovisual production…Visually, the possibilities are almost unlimited!

WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF THIS TECHNIQUE?

Clearly fun, with a strong visual impact and a new dimension for fashion photography. The effect is dynamic and offers a wealth of innovative visual possibilities. Freezing movement and rotating around it is fantastic in fashion photography because you can see how a garment drapes from multiple angles, for example. The idea is also to offer brands original content.

HOW WAS THE PHOTOSHOOT?

Aside from the fantastic atmosphere that day and the amazing welcome from Guillaume's L'atelier M in his superb custom garage, what really stood out was how quickly Marie adapted to the experience. She quickly forgot it was a photoshoot and had a blast posing for the cameras – pure fun! 😉 So, it shows in the videos!

Guillaume - Atelier M

Introduce yourself and tell us about your workshop, M!

My name is Guillaume, I am 32 years old and I am the creator of Atelier M. I started riding motorcycles at the age of 7, and they've never left me. After professional training as a heavy goods vehicle technician and then as a salesman in the automotive industry, I wanted to resume my studies to create my own motorcycle workshop.

In 2016, I started looking for a location, and 6 months later, I set up Atelier M in this former watermill, in the lower Madère area of Villenave d'Ornon.  Marc, my friend and longest-serving employee, joined me very quickly given the explosion in business.

Unfortunately, 1 year after opening the workshop, I cremated my father and took over his restaurant in Bordeaux North, alongside the garage. After turning the business around, I sold it to devote myself to 100% at Atelier M.

After three years in business, I finally got a new space in the building of my dreams, right across from our old mill. For the past year, we've been in this new location, constantly improving and refining it, becoming increasingly efficient. Paul (a work-study student) and Luca (career changer) joined us in September 2019 and January 2020 respectively, expanding our team.

WHY THIS NAME?

I called my garage Atelier M, because I love ALL motorcycles and where we come from there are no divisions. My philosophy, my life choices, mean that I like to repair what is broken, to maintain and perfect what can be perfected. I love people, local businesses, neighborhood life, and above all, I love to travel (as much as possible by motorcycle). It's the DNA of Atelier M.

WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY LIKE AT ATELIER M?

There's no such thing as a typical day at Atelier M: every project, every day is different. Some tasks come up regularly (that's just how business owners are…), but generally speaking, no two days are alike. Which is just as well, and it's my job to make sure it stays that way, to reinvent ourselves every day, to improve, to repair, to grow…

YOUR VISION OF MOTORCYCLING IN BORDEAUX?

There are quite a few events and movements, encompassing all sorts of philosophies. People know each other, meet and meet again. The overall atmosphere is good! With some friends, we created the association Notre Dame Moto following the first Distinguished Gentleman's Ride of Bordeaux. Initially a simple shared garage between friends, then an association garage in Villenave d'Ornon.

Since then, we have organized every year in September The Regular : a motorcycle orienteering race where it's good to get lost and the DGR Parade: a ride in support of men's diseases. With all this, we hope to create connections and bring together as many Bordeaux bikers as possible, whether for noble causes or simply exhilarating rides. But the motto remains "Ride," or "ride" as the kids say ;p!

WHAT WAS IT LIKE WHEN THE WORKSHOP WAS TRANSFORMED INTO A PHOTO STUDIO?

The day was amazing, incredible equipment, stunning model, lovely partner, very cool photographer (he even promised me photos of me, maybe soon...!) Whenever you want to do another session! Or even just for a drink, for that matter!
